Our story
Built by Two Makers, Not a Factory
Tarifa Bladders is family-owned and family-run. Between us we have years of boatbuilding, CNC work and textile craft behind us, and all of it now goes into one thing: inflatable systems that hold pressure season after season. We work in Tarifa on purpose. Gear that survives here survives anywhere — the wind is relentless, sessions run long, and equipment gets used until something gives. That is the standard we build to.

Why Bladders?
Because it is the part nobody thinks about until the session is already over. Manufacturers stop supplying spares for older kites, and the generic sizes that are left rarely fit properly — a bladder that is slightly too long rubs at the seams and fails again in a few weeks. So we make them to each kite’s own dimensions, using materials we have tested ourselves rather than whatever is cheapest by the roll. A kite that is ten years old and still holds air is worth more to us than a quick sale.

Jarek “JaFuzz” Halikowski — Designer & Technologist
Jarek trained as a boatbuilder and has spent years in the FabLab movement as a tutor and designer. Since 2021 he has specialised in the precise design and CNC milling of surfboards. He is a landkiter and the builder of the JFB racing buggies raced in Buggy Race. At Tarifa Bladders he leads technical design and production — pattern development, tooling, and making sure a new bladder matches the kite it is going into rather than something close enough.
Justyna Halikowska — Owner & Materials Specialist
Sewing runs in Justyna’s family. As one of the pioneers of the FabLab movement in Poland she spent years running hands-on textile workshops, teaching other people to work with materials properly. Since 2022 she has focused on professional kite reconstruction, windsurf sail panel replacement, and custom bags for surfboards and hydrofoils. At Tarifa Bladders she is responsible for materials and for the standard every finished bladder has to meet before it leaves the workshop.
How We Work
Made in the Workshop, Tested in Tarifa
Every bladder starts as a pattern, not a guess. We measure the kite, cut and weld to those dimensions, and pressure-test before anything goes back to the rider. The same applies to repairs — we tell you what we found and what it will cost before we start, and if a part is not worth saving we say so instead of charging you to patch it twice.
